If you’re a California-resident looking to enter a new career field in the technical industry – or just want to improve your current skills – you should set your sights on finding the best technical schools in your area. There are hundreds of technical schools in California, but not all of them offer competitive training that will put you at the top of your field.
Where Are the Best Technical Schools Located?
Three of the top vocational schools can be found in Rancho Cordova, Clovis, and Los Angeles. In other words, whether you’re located in northern, southern, or central California, there’s a top technical college in your region of the state.
What Are the Best Technical Schools?
Opinions vary when it comes to determining what colleges are the best not just in California, but in the United States overall. Institute of Technology, Inc in Clovis, San Joaquin Valley College in Rancho Cordova, and ICDC College in Los Angeles, however, are all competitive, well-rated technical schools that offer fast-track diplomas to attending students.
Institute of Technology, Inc has just over 1,100 enrolled students and provides flexible weekend classes for students who work. The school offers over 18 programs, with the most popular including Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, and Refrigeration Technology, and Allied Health and Pharmacy Tech. Institute of Technology, Inc. could cost $14,000 or more for tuition, depending on the program.
San Joaquin Valley College has just over 300 enrolled students and offers distance learning. The most popular fields of study include Respiratory Care Therapy and Medical Assistant. The total cost of on-campus attendance is approximately $13,000.
ICDC is the largest of the three technical colleges, with just under 3,000 enrolled students. The school is also highly flexible; the school offers online courses, so students can learn 24/7, and some programs do not require that a high school diploma. The most popular program is Medical Assistant, by a large margin.
If location isn’t an issue, figuring out which college to go to can be difficult, as each school has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, San Joaquin Valley College in Rancho Cordova is much smaller in size, meaning that students will most likely receive better hands-on assistance, but the funding might not be equivalent to that at ICDC, which is a larger institution.
Choosing a college to go to, however, is never a decision you should rush into. If you’re interested in going back to school and getting a fast-track degree, even if you’re picking from one of the best technical schools, you should review each choice carefully.
